Stick to your principles
Related to country: Namibia

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Its a battle we fight everyday, sticking to what you believe in,,

It might be tough, but if you don't have something you can believe in, you don't have anything.

If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.

No matter what's happened in your life, you can always lay claim to the fact that from this day forward, you've followed your principles to the best of your ability.

Look at the choices you've made in your past,

and observe how much you have or haven't lived by those principles.

Don't waste time feeling regretful or guilty. Remember that "...until a person can say deeply and honestly,
I am what I am today because of the choices I made yesterday,

· Beware of people who'll try and convince you to give up on your character or integrity, saying that no body's perfect, and taunting you for being such an idealist.
· The fact that no body's perfect doesn't mean violating what you believe is right.
· It's good to learn from our mistakes, but we don't always need to make mistakes in order to learn.
· Remember that striving to be perfect and being perfect are two different ideas; one is the pursuit of integrity, and the latter is an exercise in futility.
· Your character is unique.
· It may not match with any body else. So do not try for it. Build it on the basis of your own aptitude and inner light within you.
· Self assessment, self evaluation, introspection etc work well, but never get disheartened by petty failures and criticism revolving around failures. Stand firm on your convictions.
· You are bound to succeed.

It might be a tough world out there where we are faced with other people's believes which in turn clash with your own.

But if we just hold on and remain steadfast we will succeed and stick to our principles even in times of uncertainty.

Decisions,, a must

Decisions,

Growing up it never crossed my mind, I never really understood the term , until I was 14-years-old!

But now looking back I realise that I made decisions without knowing that I was making a decision.

Life is about decisions, "Be careful of the choices you make in life" my mom always said!

Whether you want to skip breakfast, whether you want to go out with that hideous hat , just to cover up for a bad hair day or if you want to give your number to that cute guy or not.

Deciding, is it a choice or are we forced to decide?

In a world of uncertainty and constraints, we are obliged to decide you see!

In some cases simple worlds like yes, no , maybe can determine your downfall or triumph.
But there some who choose not to decide /choose, those are referred to as care free , in the sense of the word.

But are they really care free?, what makes them care free, decision wise i mean?

Do they choose not to decide but choose,, isn't a decision being taken not to decide.

The Bible states two choices,,,,,the path to eternal life or the path to hell! We tip-toe on deciding on this two choices, with the thought that the decisions we make during our life time would affect that choice.

We have made decisions in the past we will live to regret. Mistakes which we have made through decision making stare right back at us everyday.

Its a risk we took on , well most of us anyway!

Eyes shut, head just in the right position, just what do we get up to?
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Nothing can match the joy of taking a nap and sleeping but just what is it exactly?

The simplest definition of sleep/sleeping is,

A regularly recurring condition of body and mind in which the nervous system is inactive, the eyes closed, the postural muscles relaxed and consciousness practically suspended.

Get that, 'which the nervous system is inactive`?
We all know we have our own meaning of this inactive activity.

Now what is taking a nap?
Sleep lightly or briefly especially during the day.

Just what do we get up to when we are sleeping or taking a nap?

It is interesting that in dream sleep the brain is actually very active. And this is where things get really theoretical.

"We’re not really sure exactly what dreams accomplish. Some experts believe that dreaming is actually some king of clearing-out process.

More sleep researchers think that dreams serve the function of helping to reorganize and store psychological information taken in during the day," says Dr Neil B Kavey, director of the Sleep Disorders Centre in New York.

Now here` s a take of what I think we [I] get up to when we sleep/nap.

It helps us escape from reality, you get to escape from the horrible day at the office , helps you forget about the fight with your mother in law [who always seems to pop-in uninvited!

Its a time where you get to dwell in your own world [be George Bush for a while or even 50 cent], you get to live your fantasies through.

You are in control, you are the dictator, the Pope, Robert Mugabe and even Pamela Anderson.

Pain seems to seize when you nap/sleep, for a while you don't have any problems and you have no constraints.

But as everything in life they have effects!

For some when sleeping/napping, reality seems to creep in, problems arise from no where.

You are left to face life on your own ,you don't have the comfort of the noisy traffic to help you escape.

To some sleeping/napping is a time to get numb, a time were tranquillises seem to do the job.

It becomes a routine to pop-in a few, lean your head on something, anything and go to a world were there are restrictions.

The world comes to a stand still, nightmares creep in nobody can save you.

Nobody can ever be of comfort, nobodies touch, hug or smile can save you.

Do we even have a choice?

What if we never slept or napped?

What then?

Wat het van die wereld geword?
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

What has become of our world?

There is so many controversial issueses and yet so many are trivial.

Ons is soo opgesukkel vir die wereld maar n paar van ons is mun getraak met wat in die wereld gebeur.

Children are dying of Hunger in countries such as Ethiopia, when some children dont want to eat their cereal because its not what they prefer' in Britain!

Just what is happening, leaders dont want to give up power, is this history repeating itself?

Are we living in a world in which a simple tick on a ballot can determine whether you`ll live?

Is the way you dress and your faith, the worlds weapon against you?

Wat het geword?
